The building has an irregular floorplan and it looks at three directions: to the nearby buildings of the campus, to the road that links the whole university and finally to the views of the skyline of Madrid. The silence zone (research and work areas) is located on the first floor and the noise zone (entrance and recreation) on the ground floor. These two zones are clearly differentiated by materiality, the ground floor is a solid volume while the top floor seems to fly and to the glas coated with horizontal slats makes it lighter .

De planta irregular el edificio mira en tres direcciones: hacia los edificios cercanos del campus, a la vía circulación que articula la universidad y por último hacia las vistas del skyline de Madrid. En la primera planta principal se encuentra la zona de silencio (zonas de investigación y trabajo) y la zona ruido (entrada y esparcimiento) en planta baja . Estas dos zonas quedan claramente diferenciadas por la materialidad,  la planta baj es un volumen sólido mientras el piso superior parece volar y el cristal revestido con lamas horizontales lo hace mas ligero.
